Full Service

When you book a full service your machines playfield will be stripped of all ramps, mini-playfields, mechanisms and plastics to expose the playfield and give access to all the rubber rings and bulbs.
I can then remove all the bulbs, test them, clean the working ones and replace the blown bulbs with #47 bulbs where necessary.
All the rubber is removed and replaced with new rubber I source from Marco Pinball in the USA. Before installing the lamps I clean the playfield with a light detergent and polish it to bring back the shine and the speed. Once that is done I can replace the rubber and start the re-installation of the ramps, mechanisms like Ferris Wheels, multi-layer playfield sections and plastics. its a big job and  can only be done in my workshop where I have the space, light and tools on hand to do it properly.
I also look at mechanisms below the playfield and clean and adjust them for optimum functionality. If something major is broken I will contact you with a quote before going ahead with the subsequent repair. If its a minor thing I'll fix it as part of the service.
The cabinet is given a clean as well and small fixes are included. If, however your cabinet is coming apart this will be seen as a mechanical repair and the cost will be added to the service should you choose to have it sorted.

A Full Service will cost you around R6,500.00. Prices may vary according to the machine so ask for a quote. The video below will show some of the work involved in a full service by Escapism.

Mechanical Repair

What you're looking at here is a common failure of the slot machine scoop on a Twilight Zone. I normally repair these using TIG welding or silver solder (similar to Brazing). Both methods work well on these mild steel mechanisms. Anything I can fix with a welder, a new bolt or a  bit of violence will always be better, cheaper and faster than looking for spares, waiting for the couriers and doing the 50:1 Rand:Dollar (including shipping and tariffs) conversion.

A repair will cost you around R1,500.00. depending on the parts needed and the hours involved. Prices depend on the job complexity so ask for a quote.

Board Repair

Most boards get damaged through leaking batteries. Yes, these machines have batteries installed on the main CPU board to keep the RAM alive where settings are stored. Things like High Scores, Free Play,  Difficulty and display language.

In a corrosion case the components affected have to be removed so that tracks can be inspected and stitched where necessary. All the corrosive fluid must be removed from underneath them as well. The cleaned and repaired  board is rebuilt and tested in the machine.

In rare cases I only have to replace RAM or other chips. Finding out which one can be tricky at eat up hours so even a small repair physically can be costly in terms of hours. Please consult an engineer or technician with experience before removing IC's from your boards. You could end up causing more damage.  Rather remove the board and bring it in or courier it to me. I won't be able to test what I've done without the machine here but at least you won't have ripped-out through-hole plating  and dry joints when you get your board back.

A repair will cost you around R1,500.00. depending on the parts needed and the hours involved. Prices may vary.
